With the freedoms we enjoy today in America, it’s easy to forget that many of the men and women who made those freedoms possible—our veterans—are still suffering. From their viewpoint, it might seem like a “grateful nation” has forgotten them. I assure you, AMVETS has not, and will never, forget their sacrifices.

The Nebraska AMVETS programs and activities are far more than remembering the days of service past. We focus on what we can do for our veterans today and the effects we have on tomorrow. Proceeds raised from this campaign will not only help support the association but also enable service officers to continue reaching out to veterans in need. Some veterans simply need benefits counseling and advice on navigating the federal bureaucracy, while others need help with healthcare, employment, or rehabilitation. We assist them in getting these services at no cost, and there is no requirement to join AMVETS to receive assistance.
